Hanging Artwork

I've mentioned before how challenging home decor is for me, because of that my little apartment is coming along very SLOWLY. I will say though, I am so proud that I finally got some artwork framed and up on my living room wall. It really adds a special something to the room. What do you do?  I'm an Art Director for Victoria\'d5s Secret Beauty. I design and art direct photography for in-store marketing and promotional materials. I'm also a full-time Daydreamer and incessant Inspiration Collector.
How did you get into your current career? I've been in specialized art schools since 7th grade. I've always known that I had to do art when I grew up. During my freshman year of college I realized I wanted to do graphic design. It combines all the things I love: typography, photography, drawing and painting.
What inspires you? I'm inspired by beautiful photography, interior design, typography, blogs!, travel, dancing, fashion and always music (especially great Salsa or Old School Breakbeats/Rap) but really, I love it all.
Why are you fly? I'm fly because that's just how my mama raised me. :P That, and because I love what I do and I work hard at it. I'm fly because I try to juice life for all it has to offer. I feel you can never learn enough, travel enough, laugh enough or try out enough restaurants.
Advice: I live my life by something Dr. Phil said. It resonated so profoundly within me that it just stuck,"You create the results in life you believe you deserve." So true.

A Cozy Afternoon in Philly

This weekend I met up with Rahil for a little coffee break at one of our favorite Philly spots, the Pink Rose Pastry Shop. Back in undergrad we would go there and split a carrot cake cupcake, partly to conserve money, but mainly because they're too rich to eat a whole one on your own. After chatting and eating our pastries we browsed around some vintage shops and then headed over to Rakia's trunk show, Le Affaire. The space was filled with unique pieces like, flirty tutus, funky scarves, and handmade bags. If you missed out, don't worry, the next one is Saturday & Sunday, November 17 - 18  1pm - 6pm.

What a luscious, juicy color! It's great for accent pieces in your home or wardrobe and superb for those who can get away with it on those fabulous lips.
