When I was nine years old a good friend of my mother's gave me a gift from her home of Kenya. It was a miniature kiondo bag, a woven basket-like bag usually made with leather straps. It was right before I went to Brazil for the summer, and it became my staple carry-all as I toured Rio.
Last weekend I visited one of my favorite boutiques, Vagabond (a true Philly staple for cute brands and vintage pieces) when I saw their great collection of kiondo bags. I learned that Megan, one of the store owners, shared my obsession over them and I was ecstatic about being able to snap some photos to share.
If you're in Philly definitely check out Vagabond. I've been going there for years and I'm always pleased with their finds.
