About Andrea
As an expert in visual communications Andrea Pippins has excelled in the world of design and digital media. With her BFA in graphic design Andrea spent time designing professionally at Hallmark Cards and TV Land/Nick@Nite Networks before returning to school to pursue her MFA at Temple University - Tyler School of Art. During her educational and professional careers her work has been published in well-known design publications such as Creative Quarterly, CMYK, How Magazine, Canadian House & Home, and Graphis New Talent. Andrea has also received numerous awards and recognition in the design industry including First Place in the 2009 AIGA Campaign to Sustain Poster Competition and the 2008 Flux Design Competition for Best Identity. Since graduating, Andrea has gone on to do freelance design work for brands like Worth Global Style Network, Free People and Nickelodeon — all while curating her fashion, art and design blog Fly.
In 2006, Andrea started Fly as a daily resource to inspire young women to pursue their creative passions. Through video, text, and image Fly reaches thousands of readers around the world. For the site Andrea writes and produces original posts and webisodes showcasing new talent in art and fashion. Because of her expertise in spotting and showcasing trends and influencing audiences, major brands like Vogue Italia's Black Vogue and Gap have sought her talents for cross-collaboration.
Andrea's ability to connect with readers with fun, honest and high-quality content has awarded her recognition for the Black Blog Awards' Best Niche Blog Judge's Pick in 2007 and features on sites like Clutch Magazine, Black Voices Hair Talk, and RG Vogue Brasil.
