These wonderful stuffed objects and landscapes, whimsical drawings, and candy-like glass sculptures are all done by artist Thu Tran. I love the colors, and admire her experimentation with different materials.

The Fall

I saw this movie the other night and it was amazing. I was drawn to see The Fall because it seemed to be visually stunning, and indeed it was. I must say when I was watching it I wasn't sure about the plot or the characters, it was a little over my head, but it all made beautiful sense at the end. The Fall is a smart movie which will leave you breathless. Here are a few images from the movie. Watch the trailer here.

Farmers' Market

I love everything about farmers' markets, especially the hand-painted signs. These are particularly fun, yet very simple. I thought I'd finish the day with these photos from a local market in Philly. I'm taking off tomorrow and Monday so have a wonderful 4th of July! Oh and don't forget to fill out the Fly Survey if you didn't get a chance to do so already.

Garden Inspiration

Whenever I visit my mother during the spring and summer she cannot wait to show me her garden. Before I can even put down my little traveling bag she's already leading me to the backyard so I can see the herbs and vegetables that are coming in nicely. I'm always pleasantly surprised to see what new little goodies she's got planted back there. Last year was the mint (which has come in handy for our homemade mojitos) and this year her strawberries have finally come in. I love strawberries so I couldn't wait for the little snack.
