Webisode 6: Nicole Rae Styer

A little over a year ago I came across Nicole's pieces at a trunk show and was very intrigued. As I mentioned before her designs are sweet, feminine and flirty, you can tell she has fun working on her creations. I thought it would be cool to see her space and find out what inspires her creative process.

So I must say I was a little spoiled by the wonderful production team I had in New York, this time around I was the camerawoman, audio-mixer, producer, editor, and PA — HA!! Working on this has given me an even higher level of respect and appreciation for the folks who work behind the scenes. I hope you enjoy what I was able to put together. If you have any difficulties viewing the footage click here to see it on youtube. Check out Nicole's myspace page to see more of these photos. Music credits: Arrastao by Andre Penazzi

WEBISODE 4: Punk Rock Fleamarket Festival

Last weekend I went with Rakia to the Punk Rock Fleamarket Festival here in the heart of Philadelphia. The place was packed with so much stuff that we were in there for hours fighting the crowd trying to see everything. We used my digital camera to record our findings. We didn't get much of the inside because it was too dark, and please excuse my amateur directing and editing skills {{smile!!!}}, but hopefully you get a sense of how much fun we had and of course appreciate the fact that in fashion you can still find cute but yet inexpensive stuff. Click here for the youtube.com version.

Webisode 3: Renegade Craft Fair Part 1

This webisode covers some of the many talented artists and crafters who were selling their wares at the 3rd Annual Renegade Craft Fair in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We covered five artists and decided to break it up into two parts. So here is part one, be sure to look for part two next week. Oh, and just in case you can't read the website addresses for each artist on the video, I have them listed below. If you have problems viewing the video here, visit this youtube.com link to see it there. Music Credit: CéU, Ave Cruz

Hodge Podge - funky stenciled clothing
Hoibo - hand-made and hand-dyed handbags
Pillow Pillow Pillow - cute pillows favoring your favorite pets

Webisode Stills/Renegade Craft Fair

Last Saturday I ventured out to Brooklyn, once again, to cover the 3rd Annual Renegade Craft Fair for my third webisode. I wanted to buy everything! There were pillows, hand-crafted jewelry, pretty patterned dresses and bags, letter-pressed goodies, screen-printed posters, and more. It was all fantastic but I couldn't cover it all, time was a factor and it was VERY hot.

Rg2 Anyway, here are some "behind the scenes" pics of the wares featured in the webisode. Look for the webisode and info on the featured pieces to come soon. To see previous webisodes click here, or check them out on youtube.com.

Thank You

I just want to thank you all for the wonderful responses regarding my Fly Webisode. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and I truly appreciate all the love and support! Look for more to come, I hope to feature them on a more consistent basis. In the meantime, I know some folks had trouble viewing the quicktime so I posted it on youtube.com. Also, if you missed Fly Webisode #1, click here. Thanks again!

Thankyou

Webisode Feature: Rare Device

For my second webisode I had the pleasure of featuring the lovely boutique, Rare Device, in Park Slope, Brooklyn. I had a great time and it was a very interesting learning experience in regards to being in front of the camera. I hope you enjoy webisode #2. (If you have trouble playing it here, check it out on youtube.com)

Special Thanks to: Rena Tom, for letting me feature Rare Device; and John Kenower who directed, filmed, and edited the footage. Thanks so much for your time and energy.

This is a Test... Webisode #1

So for a while I have been thinking about adding webisodes to Fly as another fun feature and finally it's here. It's just another way to show how I explore the city, looking for things that inspire me. This first little short takes place in midtown where I bought the earrings I shared yesterday. It's all in fun, I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks to Rakia for the webisode idea, and thank you, Ganeka, for filming me.
