Metropolis magazine did a little write up about cities taking the initiative to clean up alley-ways to create friendly and communal environments in urban neighborhoods. Some have even added cafes, boutiques and galleries to these small spaces. I think it's a wonderful idea to have a place for neighbors to converge and hang out. (The bottom two photos are the before and after of a transformed alley.)

Artist Vandana Jain took existing logos (like the NBC and Chase Bank logos) and arranged their elements as you would with a Tangram puzzle. Can you guess what other logos were used? Check out Vandana Jain's site to see.

If I lived in a city where there were trucks selling baked goods like ice-cream trucks sell ice cream I would be on the curb eagerly waiting for some cookies and cupcakes everyday! Well New York City (of course) is home to the Treats Truck, which delivers all kinds of goodies to the lucky people roaming the city with a sweet tooth. I love this innovative idea! Learn more here.

Who? Tiffany Maldonado, 26
Where? I was raised in sunny South Florida for 25 years. I now live in New Jersey & Work in NYC.
What do you do? I am currently doing Internet marketing & copy writing for fashion and retail websites.
I would love to write full time for a fashion publication.
What inspires you? I am inspired by the energy from different cultures. I love discovering new ways of living and new ways of expressing myself.
Why are you fly? I am fly because I am in a constant state of personal evolution. When I discover new things that are beautiful or bring a smile to my face, I share them with my friends, family and people on the web.
Advice: Always remember that perception is reality. You will be pleasantly surprised when you realize the power that a sincere smile, confidence and well spoken words can have. Once you project the image that you want others to see, the world will be yours for the taking.
