Even if you're looking for it you might miss it. Topstitch Boutique is located on a busy street but you must go up a set of stairs to see the goodness that lies within. When Rakia and I went to shoot our webisode we found that the goodness also leaked out onto the sidewalk for a good old fashioned sidewalk-sale. It was too fun and I finally got a romper out of this shopping excursion (yeeeesss!!). You can see it below or click here to check it out or visit my youtube page.
Thank you Tina for sharing your voice and a big thanks to John Kenower for trekking
all the way down to Philly to help me out. Rakia aka "Rocky Jo" thanks, girl!

I don't remember how I came across this clothing line but when I did I immediately became a fan. The silhouettes are fun, and the textures and colors are luscious. I'm sure the model is super tall but these cute stylings seem like they could work for petite ladies like me. All Dressed Up has many more photos, click here to see more.

Last week I went to a networking event thrown by Rakia for the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC). It was held at the Vivant Art Collection gallery which is a beautiful space located in Old City Philadelphia. I can be really shy but I forced myself to go up to people and talk about Fly and make new connections. It's funny how after going up to one or two, the rest are so much easier. It was a really great event, thanks Rakia!

FGOTW is back with more inspiring ladies from all over the world. I am honored to introduce our very first Fly Girl of the Week from Brazil. Do you want to be FGOTW? Click here to see how.
Who? My name is Mariana, I'm 28 years old, almost 29, I'm Brazilian, live in São Paulo and work as a designer at Africa (a pubilicity agency).
Where? I live in São Paulo, but I'm from Salvador, Bahia, a city that has a huge African culture influence, such as foods, songs, religion, etc.
What do you do? I graduated in business, but I never really liked it. But I worked at companies like Electrolux and PriceWaterhouseCoopers until I discovered what I really love to do. Today I work as a designer at Africa, the largest ad agency in Brazil. I really love what I do, I work with a great team and
we have great jobs. I also have an interest in fashion, travelling and crafts.
What inspires you? Everything that is beautiful inspires me. I love to see works on the internet, so everyday I connect with the best blogs (such as FLY!) and get inspired!
Why are you fly? I'm fly because I'm young, creative, love my work, and mainly because I'm really really happy!
Advice: The best thing you can do is find out your talent and go after it! You have to do what makes you happy, so that you never feel like you are working, you are just doing what you love to do!
